Carvajal contract through June 30, 2027... joins 105 days after becoming a free agent

Getafe club announcement lists the contract expiry date as June 30, 2027. It runs until the end of this season rather than for exactly one year from the announcement, making it a contract of about eight and a half months. According to Mundo Deportivo, he joined as a free agent after his Real Madrid contract ended on June 30. From that day until this announcement, 105 days had passed.

Reports of about 0.4 million and 1 million euro salary... La Liga financial checks held up the deal

Cadena SER reported that the agreement was finalized only after La Liga's review. The main issue in the negotiations was La Liga's financial control, which examines salary levels. elGOLdigital reported that the salary Getafe offered on October 8 was about 0.4 million euros. According to reports, La Liga's review judged this amount to be unrealistic.

Different figures emerged on announcement day. Mundo Deportivo reported about 1 million euros, while AS wrote 'under 1 million euros.' However, it is not specified whether the figure is before or after tax or over what payment period, and it is not an official confirmed amount. Capology estimated his Real Madrid salary at about 10.42 million euros, but because that is not a like-for-like comparison, the size of the salary cut cannot be determined.

Six Champions League final wins, tied for first with Modrić

Rank	Player	Titles	Notes
1	Dani Carvajal	6	all with Real Madrid
1	Luka Modrić	6	all with Real Madrid
3	Karim Benzema	5	Real Madrid
3	Toni Kroos	5	Excludes 1 title won without playing in the final
3	Cristiano Ronaldo	5	Manchester United, Real Madrid

UEFA tally (as of May 30, 2026) shows that the number of times he won by playing in the final is six. He is tied for first with Modrić and one more than Benzema and Ronaldo, who have five each. Kroos also has six career titles, but the one he won without playing in the final is excluded. According to Real Madrid's official data, the trophies he lifted over 13 seasons total 27 trophies.

The count depends on when it was made. Real Madrid announced in its official tally on May 17 that he had 450 appearances and 14 goals. Reports on the day of the signing put his final total at 451 appearances. His last match was on May 23, so this is not a misreport. His Spain senior national team record, according to Getafe's announcement, is 51 appearances (as of October 13, 2026, 19:00).

When he will make his first appearance for Getafe had not been confirmed as of the announcement. Born January 11, 1992, his natural position is right-back, and Goal also raised the possibility of him playing as a right-sided center-back. The club said in its statement about the 34-year-old defender, who reached the summit 27 times with Real Madrid: "He will add experience and leadership."
