Three-Line Summary

The first 2027 VCT Masters will be held in Seoul for 12 days, from Feb 20 to Mar 3, 2027.
The 2027 VCT will run more than 50 tournaments across 15 cities, and the total season prize pool is planned to exceed $7 million.
Existing Stage 1 and 2 will be replaced by two regional Cups. Venue and ticket information for Seoul will be announced later.

In 2024, Seoul hosted VALORANT Champions. According to Jeonja Sinmun, the first 2027 VCT Masters is scheduled to take place from Feb 20 to Mar 3, 2027 in Seoul. Domestic reports described it as the first Masters- or Champions-level global event held in Korea in about 3 years since the 2024 Champions Seoul.

The key question is whether this announcement is specific enough for fans to plan their schedules now. The dates and city have been revealed. However, the venue and tickets remain to be announced later, and the prize pool specific to the Seoul Masters and the confirmed participating teams have not been verified in this reporting.

VCT Masters Seoul Schedule: Feb 20–Mar 3, 12 Days

Counting the days, the Seoul event is a 12-day schedule. February 2027 has 28 days, so the total is Feb 20–28 (9 days) plus Mar 1–3 (3 days). Overseas outlet Sheep Esports also reported the same period. The start time has not yet been confirmed (as of Oct 16, 2026, 13:00).

It is also worth noting the timing of the official announcement. Riot Games' global roadmap was posted on Oct 15, 2026, and domestic coverage of the Seoul event came a day later, on the 16th. The Jeonja Sinmun headline uses the phrase "first Masters of this year," but the body states it is the 2027 event. So this is indeed next year's event.

15 Cities and 50+ Tournaments: The 2027 Global Schedule

Seoul is one of the 15 cities hosting the 2027 VCT. According to the Riot Games official roadmap, more than 50 tournaments will be held, including open qualifiers. Among them, the global events where teams from multiple regions compete include only 2 Masters and 1 Champions event with announced schedules.

Event	Host City	Period	Days (calculated in this article)
First Masters	Seoul	Feb 20–Mar 3	12 days
Second Masters	Valencia (Spain)	Jun 5–20	16 days
Champions	Austin (USA)	Sep 16–Oct 10	25 days

Laid out in a table, Seoul's position stands out. It is the first global event to take place among those with announced schedules. There are 93 days between the end of Seoul and the start of Valencia. This is the sum of March 4–31 (28 days), April (30 days), May (31 days), and June 1–4 (4 days).

VCT Structure Changes to Two Cups, Season Prize Pool Exceeds $7 Million

Gamemeca reports that the early-year kickoff will continue in 2027. Instead, existing Stage 1 and 2 will be replaced by two regional Cups. Riot Games said open qualifiers will give non-partner teams a chance to compete with existing teams and expand opportunities to reach global events.

Here is the prize money summary as well. Sheep Esports and esportnow.gg reported that the total prize pool for the 2027 VCT season is planned to exceed $7 million (as of Oct 15, 2026). Official figures for the total prize pool and winner's prize specific to the Seoul Masters have not been confirmed.

"Global event returning to Seoul after about 3 years: dates confirmed, venue and tickets to be announced later, prize money unconfirmed." The "3 years" here is a reporting expression calculated from the difference between the years 2024 and 2027.
